Todd Haynes’ 1988 banned masterpiece, Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story is a short, biographical film that portrays the tragic life of pop star Karen Carpenter entirely with Barbie Dolls.
Presented and curated as the inaugural event of a film screening series by Taylor E. Burch (Dva Damas, Downwards, Tropic of Cancer)
This event will feature DJ Camella Lobo of Tropic of Cancer and a concession stand, as well as printed zines available only at the screening.
