meija is the brainchild of singer, songwriter, and producer Jamie Sierota, His previous band, Echosmith, showed off his gift for crafting bright pop songs (like the triple-platinum "Cool Kids") — leading to songwriting stints for Adam Lambert, Aly & AJ, JAWNY, and Quinn XCII. meija (an anagram of "Jamie," pronounced MAY-uh) dives even deeper, wading through both agony and ecstasy by way of transcendent melodies, surprising hooks, and sonic textures. His debut album, Do Ya?, digs into the gray area that comes with looking deeper into traditions, relationships, parenthood, religion, and even death.
