After cutting his teeth as a producer and drummer in the Los Angeles and New York music scenes, Rochester-native Matt Battle reemerges under the new moniker, Mad Bad World. Battle recently garnered attention for his drumming with the psychedelic-soul band Chicano Batman, all the while he’s been crafting an eclectic collection of songs of his own; synthesizing his love for underground electronic, lo-fi, and psychedelic music with his early influences of punk, indie, and alternative music. After releasing a steady stream of singles in late 2023 through the new year, Mad Bad World’s debut full length album “Mercy Memory” is slated to be released this summer. Performing live, the band features long time collaborator and bassist Kamara Robideau, keyboardist Anina Denove, and guitarist Jacob Peter.
