Since its inception, lovetempo, the brainchild of Mattie Safer (singer and bassist for Poolside and The Rapture), has moved with imagination and creativity, fusing saudade sentimentality and jazz-funk excursions, with modern dancefloor sensibilities. Through body, soul, and basslines lovetempo explores the travails and triumphs of the heart. Their 2023 self-titled debut was released on Razor-N-Tape to great acclaim, receiving heavy airplay on KCRW (and other like-minded stations), leading to a US tour with 79.5 and headline dates in New York, Mexico City, and Austin. The band's latest single "But I Do" is a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist/producer Dougie Stu (of Ghostly International’s Brijean) and Conclave’s Cesar Toribio.
