John Errol / Lily McQueen / Mercedes Kilmer

Elusive LA-based singer John Errol cuts a lonely figure in the musical landscape. Writer, producer, and engineer of his own musical content, he melds the sludgy textures of industrial with hushed vocals and unbridled, confessional lyricism. Self-dubbed a “radio-friendly nervous breakdown,” John Errol’s music evokes many images: sugar-crusted knives, teeth-grinding, blue flames, blood orange skies. Drawing inspiration from every well—Britney Spears, Nine Inch Nails and Elliott Smith to name a few—he released his debut album Inferno in May 2021 via Flexible Distribution/Terrible Records, an apocalyptic pop abomination capable of shrill and nuance in the same sentence.

Inferno marks John Errol’s first official full-length release and featured breakout singles “Dead Man Walking,” “Sometimes,” and “Unbelievable,” which have earned praise from media such as the FADER, Paper, Flood, and more while garnering cosigns from artists like Moses Sumney.

Errol has quietly been at work on his follow-up project, an album he describes as “bitter, bruised, and brash,” which he plans to release next year.
