Easy Love / Occasionally Humans / Kelly Abarca

Easy love is the project of Justine Brown, a multi-instrumentalist who has been in the LA music scene throughout the past 15 years performing in local indie-rock bands Summer Twins and Winter. Brown has evolved her sound over the past few years, now focusing on a self-recorded album and solo performances using backing tracks composed on her iPhone. Mixing organic sounds with digital, Justine retains her pop melodies, but now has an electronic/experimental tinge. The current set of songs started from her song-a-month project on Patreon, which were usually completed in one session, capturing the present moment. This show will be a celebration of the final single release before the new album Bedroom Songs comes out in October. Complimenting her performance, for the first time she will have projections of footage captured during her birdwatching excursions.

Occasionally Humans is a band based out of Los Angeles, California, with Elisabeth leading on vocals and songwriting. They craft music that transcends conventional boundaries, blending psychedelic undertones and dreamy melodies to craft an immersive sonic experience. The band comprises a collective of musical artisans, including Ian on hypnotic bass, Alessandro on rhythm, Charlie on synth, and Keenen shredding guitar. Together, they curate ethereal experiences that delve into the deeper facets of humanity and human experiences through their music and lyrics.

Kelly Abarca is an independent musician based in Los Angeles who explores the sounds of indie rock mixed with psychedelic pop and the tropical features of her hometown: Lechería, Venezuela. Her recent releases explore a world of happy melancholy, upbeat and bright rhythms, beachy summer vibes and dreamy landscapes, accompanied by lyrics from a deeply personal perspective.

Her latin folk roots can be heard in her first EP “Playa Muerta” 2016. This personal EP with its simple production has served as the basis for the evolution of her sound. In 2019, she traded her acoustic for an electric guitar and explored a more indie pop sound with songs like “Beso en la Disco,” “Mar y Sal,” and “No lo Pienses Más.” . Her song “Es un Secreto” received national wide coverage on Venezuelan airways.

Since moving to LA in 2021, she has formed a new band that has quickly gained a growing local following.
