What is the Alan Smithee cut?

A never-online, elongated version of the theatrical release of Dune that only aired a few times on TV. There's different narration and bizarre extra scenes, and David Lynch hated it so much that he had his name removed.

How long is it?

Almost four hours! Our tape was recorded from a 1998 broadcast and features lots of glorious commercials, like Bob Dole's Viagra ad.

What is Theosophy Hall?

A historic Victorian theatre inside the United Lodge of Theosophists in DTLA, which was actually Lynch's inspiration for the Black Lodge. This is one of their first events in a very long time, and the first on their brand-new movie screen, which we have made thanks to Keith.

Who is putting this on?

Me, Blair. If you like weird places in LA and have TikTok, you might know me, but I found this tape a long time ago and always wanted to show it.

How will I survive four hours of this?

There's an intermission. True fans who survive the entire screening will get a prize.
