Late Breakfast is proud to present a night of forward-thinking electronics with Cruel Diagonals, Tony Rolando, founder of renowned synth company Make Noise, and renowned producer and synthesist Gold.fix.

Cruel Diagonals is the experimental project of Los Angeles-based vocalist, producer, and visual artist, Megan Mitchell. Merging haunting vocal work with dark electronics, Cruel Diagonals explores the tension between beauty and dissonance, structure and chaos. Her sound palette draws from contemporary influences such as musique concrète, noise, and dark ambient, as well as traditional music from across the globe. She navigates themes both visceral and cerebral, invoking the simultaneity of violence and stillness across geological time. Bandcamp Daily likens Mitchell’s work to the “power of a volcanic eruption, bubbling up from unimaginable depths into the atmosphere.”

Tony Rolando is the founder of Make Noise synthesizer company and a recording artist for Important Records and Ceremony of Seasons. He performs on the synthesizers he designed with the Make Noise team. The music has been described as experimental, cosmic and meditative. He also provides the sounds for the Experimental Meditation Club gatherings, facilitating the guided meditations led by his lifelong partner Kel.

Gold.fix is the modular synth focused live project of music maker and producer Alex Tebeleff. In contrast to the song & production focused nature of his bands Paperhaus and How???, Gold.fix music focuses on pure intuition and improvisation, with every performance being a fresh and spontaneous embrace of sound and texture and groove. Like a Tibetan sand painting, the patch is scattered to the wind and never to be seen (or heard from) again.
