Mawasim Altariq, Seasons of the Road, is the third full studio album from Alsarah & the Nubatones, more than 5 years in the making. It began as a seed in Beirut back at the end of 2018 in a week long residency at the Station. Slowly it traveled to Sudan for the filming of the music video of one of the first tracks written on it, "Men Ana", an homage to the Sudanese revoultion taking place at the time. It then returned back to NYC as the band locked down along w the rest of the world and watched everything change from our windows. The road kept winding and changing, revolutions began and ended, wars raged engulfing countries, and genocides became the new normal. These songs became markers of the seasons and winding road as they slowly came together in this album.
Soof is an artist with Nile River roots currently blessed to be branching and blossoming in the Los Angeles sun. Fresh off the release of his new album Tree Of Life, Soof joins Alsarah & The Nubatones for this magical evening of music to perform poems and songs of hope faith and freedom with his band The Caravan.
Along with the music, we will be raising funds for the mutual aid initiative Sunduq Al Sudan (sunduqalsudan.org) which sends money directly to aid humanitarian efforts inside Sudan led by ERRs and other mutual aid groups. We highly encourage folks to donate even if they cant attend the event.
