Kathleen Kim’s music draws inspiration from world folk and roots to bring rhythm and melody in solitude with her surroundings or in syncopated solidarity with others. In addition to her solo work, she plays in the feminastic experimental duo SheKhan and the acoustic avant jazz chamber ensemble LA Fog. Kathleen studied with the late great Yusef Lateef, whose prolific artistry with diverse musical forms, instrumentation, and genres continue to influence her. Sam Brown (Samual Nathaniel Brown) is a multi-hyphenate artist whose music and spoken word live at the intersection of truth, craft, and transformation. A two-time statewide spoken word poetry champion, Sam delivers bars like testimony—equal parts grit and grace—building songs that feel cinematic, intimate, and unapologetically human. Whether on record or on stage, his work is rooted in lived experience and sharpened by discipline: vivid storytelling, hard-earned perspective, and an ability to turn pain into purpose without ever sounding preachy.

With a catalog that spans albums, poetry, and published writing, Sam’s voice carries the weight of survival while refusing to be defined by it. His art speaks to anyone who’s ever had to rebuild—mentally, emotionally, spiritually—and still chose to create. From reflective anthems to spoken-word heat, he doesn’t chase trends; he builds worlds.

Sam Brown is not just an artist you listen to—he’s an artist you feel. The message is clear: the past can explain you, but it doesn’t have to imprison you.
